6 Of The Best Places To See Fall Foliage In Seattle

Seattle is a great place to be during the fall months with so many amazing things to do. From exploring the a local yarn shop to a day spent hiking, there is always something you can find do to when you’re here. But one of those things you can’t miss out on when living in Seattle is checking out the stunning fall foliage. There are so many great options that it can often be hard to choose which ones you want to go to. Which is why we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorites.

1) Green Lake

One of Seattle’s most beloved parks, you’ll find Green Lake a stunning place to enjoy the fall colors. With the expansive water and green spaces in the middle of the urban neighborhood, the park is a breath of beautiful fresh air. The park has hundreds of trees and plant species that you can check out on the 2.8-mile path around the lake.

2) Kubota Garden

Looking for a free fall color tour? This is the stop for you. The reservations are required to tour, making this a perfect opportunity to see all the variety of changing plants. With over 200 varieties of maple and other deciduous trees in the garden, you don’t want to miss out on this amazing tour.

3)Washington Park Arboretum

Located on the shores of Lake Washington, Washington Park Arboretum is jointly managed by the University of Washington Botanic Gardens and the City of Seattle. There are 230 acres to explore with a huge variety of plants, some found nowhere else in the Northwest. After seeing all the stunning fall colors, stop in at The Graham Visitors Center for more information about the park.

4) Discovery Park

Discovery Park has 534 acres of natural park area. This is the large park in the city and gives way to some of the most breathtaking majesty there is to offer. Overlooking Puget Sound, you’ll have spectacular views. This semi-natural area is a great getaway to enjoy some quiet while exploring the beauty of the fall colors in the middle of the city.

5) Lincoln Park

If you’re looking for a beautiful walk through fall colors, then Lincoln Park is the spot for you. With 4.6 miles of walking paths, along with 5 picnic shelters, this is the best place to stop in for the day. While you’re here, you can enjoy the other amazing elements, like the interactive information about migratory birds or the cable ride as well as the small alcove for sensory sensitive children.

6) Seattle Japanese Garden

This 3.5-acre urban sanctuary is the perfect spot to see all the stunning fall colors, while having a tranquil experience. Follow the winding gravel paths, where you can view the gardens at your pace. Check out the rock, water, lanterns, and bridges along with the beautiful plants.
